“RED LIGHT!”
Sometimes writing isn’t the most effective form of communication

Writing is a time-worn means of conveying information from one who has it to one who ostensibly needs it.
When communicating by writing to a faceless, non-specific reader, the writer feels impelled by usually either one, or both, of two broad motivators.
Motivator 1- The belief that what is to be shared is important enough to craft into written form, regardless of whether it is à propos to any specific reader at the moment.
A peculiar property of writing is that it outlives the moment of its creation. This leads writers to create beautiful works of prose and poetry in the hope that some reader, somewhere, sometime will find enjoyment, enlightenment, or appreciation.
But, I hope we are all agreed that it would not be appropriate to write a sonnet to a driver about to run a red light.
“Hey, look out!” or “Red light!” are communiques best spoken or shouted, and not written.
There is no need to preserve those communications for future use where they may not have application again for quite some time.
On the other hand, a book about defensive driving techniques can be read at leisure, when not driving. That kind of writing can provide…
